THE LIBERTY BELLES 1778 COVER

From it’s inception, “Liberty Belles: the American Revolutionary War” has been a fun but challenging project. This year has really taken the cake though.

Every year has its challenges but this year was more difficult than usual and it can all be summed up in one word — Covid. To be clear, I’m not afraid of the SARS-COV2 virus, its symptoms, or even it’s very low percentage death rate. However, the rest of the world is.

It also seems that one demographic is particularly (yet unsurprisingly) scared of the virus — and that would be women. Now, that’s not me being a toxic white male making a misogynistic slight against the ladies. Far be it — I love and respect women while acknowledging their commonly shared traits.

However, it is pretty common place that women generally get squeamish when it comes to creepy gross things like viruses. What’s creepier than Dr. Fauci whipping the world into a frenzy over what we used to affectionately call “the crud” as a ubiquitous catch all for every virus we got sick with?

To be fair, there have only been a few models who didn’t want to shoot this year because of the crud, but that was enough to really set the production timeline back. Where the rest were willing to shoot, they couldn’t because — well — their first responsibility was to their jobs.

In a time when keeping your jobs is of paramount importance with all the shut downs, and mandates, I really couldn’t blame most of them except a couple who were just plain flakey without legitimate excuse. Truly, the flakey behavior is enough to make me want to move on to a project that doesn’t depend on girls showing up though.

Sufficed to say, grinding this calendar out was an excruciating process akin to nailing Jell-o to a wall while simultaneously herding cats together. Never-the-less we persevered, the project is done, distribution is about to pick up, and you are here to get a sneak peak and not hear me yap on about this year’s production woes.

So, without further guilding of the lilly, I present to you the Liberty Belles cover for 2022. It will be going on pre-sale in the next week here on the site, on Amazon, and on Ebay.

I hope you love the calendar this year. And, if you don’t — keep it to yourself because it was a hellacious experience.
